Apple Posts iPad Guided Tour Videos Perhaps you have not yet been sold on the wondrous future that the iPad will bring: large multitouch screens, simple Web browsing, world peace. While there’s no substitute for sitting down and getting your hands on one, that won’t be a possibility until April 3. In the meantime, go for the next best thing: the series of guided video tours of the device now available on Apple’s Website. In a letter posted to the Web, Now Software co-owner and president John Wallace announced that the company is suspending day-to-day operations. Now’s move comes seven months after the company released Now X, the long-awaited successor to its Now Up-to-Date and Contact contact manager and calendar application. Go to Top PayPal App Now Lets You 'Bump to Send Money' Popular payment provider PayPal has released an updated version of its iPhone app that introduces a number of new features. Most interesting is the integration of the “bump to communicate” feature first introduced by the Bump app (which you may remember as the billionth download from the App Store). The PayPal app allows you to send money to another person by simply entering an amount and gently “bumping” your iPhone against theirs. Back when we had to print out maps for trips, do simple calculations in our heads, drive around to find a good restaurant, and watch YouTube videos on a device no smaller than a laptop? Dark times, indeed. You might even say that some of us have grown dependent on these handheld devices—perhaps even addicted.
