Apple Stores to Institute 'Experts'?

A new job position at Apple Stores, the Expert, will make its public debut within about two weeks, sources claim. Apple is already said to be interviewing candidates, who if successful will supplement the role currently handled by Geniuses. Whereas a Genius remains stationary at a Genius Bar, Experts will be expected to roam store floors, taking questions from people without an appointment.

iPhone for Verizon May Lack World Roaming

A Verizon iPhone is coming but may not have the world roaming some users would want, Northeast Securities analyst Ashok Kumar claims. After contacting Apple's suppliers, the researcher believes Qualcomm has landed a deal to produce a CDMA iPhone but that it won't be a dual-mode phone with both CDMA and GSM and consequently can't leave North America with cellular service intact. BlackBerries like the Storm2 and Tour have such features themselves.

Steve Jobs Takes $1 Salary in 2009

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has taken his usual salary of just $1 yet again in 2009, according to the company's annual proxy statement filed with the SEC. Jobs holds a much larger portion of the company stock than the other executives, at 5.5 million shares, although he has yet to sell a single share since returning to the company in 1997.

Tip: Show Only Exact Duplicates in iTunes

In iTunes, a very useful feature is the File->Show Duplicates menu item. As expected by its name, you can use this feature to help weed out duplicates from your iTunes library. However, many people have different versions of songs, remixes and such, which will show up as duplicates when using this feature. The solution is to hold down the option key prior to selecting this menu item. When you do, Show Duplicates changes to Show Exact Duplicates. In this mode, iTunes shows only true duplicates, and not remixes or alternate versions.
